First question, "If you died tonight, would you go to heaven or hell?" Jesus said in Mark 1:15, "Repent and believe the gospel..." and Luke 13:3, "Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish". If you do not repent and believe the gospel, you will spend eternity in hell! Acts 3:19 says "Repent and be converted...". If you have said a prayer or followed someone in a prayer and your life has still went on the same, then something is wrong. That prayer will not save you. Jesus said "Repent and Believe". Repentance is a U-turn. All your life you have been going down this road toward what you want. Your desires, your lusts, and where you want your life to go. You may have even done good works, but, God looks on the heart. He knows why you do what you do. Is your heart clean before God, or is it wicked? Keep in mind, He knows your every thought, motive and reason that you use to justify your actions. Are they justified before God? Romans 3:23 says "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." That means we are all wicked in God's eyes. This means we all deserve hell. You see, God is holy; He can't have sin around Him. He will not have it in heaven, so you cannot carry your sin into eternity. If you die with sin on your account, hell will be your eternal destination. Back to Acts 3:19, "Repent and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out". Blotted out means removed, erased, and washed clean. Gone, never to be remembered. Only God can do that! Repentance is a turning to God and away from your sins and your lifestyle. So, turn to God and believe the Gospel. God wants to forgive your sins, but it is up to you to repent and believe. Jesus is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. In Mark 1:15 Jesus said "Repent ye, and believe the gospel". Now that you know what repentance is, you need to believe the gospel! The gospel is clearly shown in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4. That is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Creator. He came to this world, lived 33 sinless years (you can't go 33 minutes without sin) and willingly died on a cross for our sins. He was then buried in a tomb, and on the 3rd day arose. That is the Gospel! If you have not done so, repent and believe. Ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and trust Him alone with your eternal salvation.
